HARRISON MISSES OUT
NORTHAMPTON Foxes’ Rising Star Luke Harrison was out of luck in the British Under-21 Final at Redcar on Sunday.
Harrison, who finished third in the event last year, scored eight points from his five qualifying rides which left him two points short of the mark required to progress to the closing stages of the meeting.
A retirement in his second ride proved costly, and although he hit back to win next time out, he finished last in his fourth outing which meant progression was unlikely.
Harrison did win his last ride to move on to eight points, but that proved to be short of both Max Perry and Vinnie Foord who finished on ten, with the latter missing out on countback. It left Harrison classified in eighth place overall.
The meeting was won by 16-year-old Cooper Rushen, who displayed his talent on his first visit to Northampton International Shaleway last month, whilst Jody Scott, Ace Pijper and Will Cairns completed the top four.
Harrison will be back in action for the Foxes when they visit Sheffield in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Thursday, with the return being the next fixture at the Shaleway on June 18.
