POSTPONED: FOXES v KING’S LYNN

NORTHAMPTON Foxes’ home fixture against King’s Lynn scheduled for Thursday (June 4) has unfortunately been postponed.

A decision has been taken with the agreement of all parties that due to the adverse weather conditions this week, including further rain forecast for today and tomorrow, it is highly unlikely that a suitable level of track preparation could be achieved to enable the meeting to take place.

An early announcement has therefore been made in order to minimise inconvenience for riders, staff and supporters from both clubs.

Co-promoter Paul Hunsdon said: “Both myself and Tony (Gaul) are conscious that the weather conditions this week and so far today (Wednesday) would make it very hard for our track curators to prepare a surface that is acceptable to the riders and officials.

“This, coupled with the forecast for heavy showers throughout Thursday, made it a sensible decision to postpone the meeting today.

“We would like to thank Premiership CEO Phil Morris and the SCB's Neil Vatcher for endorsing our decision, and extend our thanks to Rob Lyon and all at King’s Lynn for their understanding.”

A provisional new date for the meeting has been set for Monday July 27, and this will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile the Foxes are next in action at Sheffield on Thursday June 11 and the Tigers, featuring World No.5 Jack Holder and the spectacular Josh Pickering, are the next visitors to the Shaleway on Thursday June 18.
