FOXES v KING’S LYNN, PREVIEW
NORTHAMPTON Foxes look to turn last week’s potential into more league points when they face King’s Lynn at the Shaleway on Monday (7.30pm).
The Foxes fought out a thrilling contest with Sheffield in their last home meeting, which ended in a 45-45 draw with a great deal of spectacular racing after early track issues were resolved.
Now they take on a Stars side who have suffered with the same consistency issues as the Foxes in most of the campaign so far, with their recent results summing up that point.
An incredible comeback at Sheffield saw King’s Lynn take a shock away win, but they then dropped points at home to leaders Belle Vue last week and consequently find themselves outside the top four.
Several of their riders did, though , show a liking for the Shaleway when they recorded a 47-41 win in the KO Cup in the very early stages of the season.
Grand Prix star Max Fricke, who won one of the Manchester rounds recently, leads the attack for the visitors, along with legendary skipper Chris Harris and Czech star Jan Kvech, whilst 16-year-old Cooper Rushen impressed in his first appearance at the venue.
The Foxes are unchanged in personnel and riding order from last week, and they will look for improved contributions from some in the heat-leader department whilst hoping the likes of Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kye Thomson and reserve Troy Batchelor can maintain their scoring from the Sheffield match.
Foxes boss Chris Adams said: “An aggregate point is up for grabs and I’m hoping we can find those 49 points and steal a bonus which will make more of a difference in our fight for league places towards the end of the season.
“There are eight meetings to go now in the league campaign with five of those fixtures being home ones and three left away.
“There’s a handful of aggregate points up for grabs also, so it’s time now to see if we can add to our tally.
“I’ve said all year that the way our season was planned from the start it would look a bit like this, but now it’s down to our boys to see if they can pull it off.”
There are plenty of children’s activities planned for Monday, where all under-11s go free, as well as drift demonstrations from Jolene McDonald.

*FOXES No.1 Jaimon Lidsey missed out in his bid to reach the 2027 Grand Prix series when he finished 13th in Saturday’s Challenge at Italian venue Terenzano, scoring five points. Great Britain racer Robert Lambert won the meeting.
